This online course provides participants with a comprehensive study of installing manufactured homes in Alabama. The training covers the key factors that contribute to a successful installation, including Alabama zoning regulations, soil conditions, slope and elevation, utility access, and climate factors. Participants also study the International Residential Code (IRC) and the Manufactured Home Installation Standards of the Alabama Manufactured Home Commission. By the end of the course, participants understand the requirements for a safe and stable manufactured home installation in Alabama, preparing them to pursue work as professional manufactured home installers. Participants who successfully complete the theory and hands on lab for this course earn an ACCS credential.
Academic Pathways: This non-credit workforce training course may also help participants earn college credit through Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) or articulation opportunities toward select certificate or degree programs at participating Alabama community colleges. Credit awards are granted solely at the discretion of the receiving institution in accordance with its academic policies.
