This course prepares participants for a career as a concrete mixer truck driver. Participants must have a valid CDL Class B license prior to participating in the lab portion of this course. The hands-on lab covers identifying concrete mixer truck components, their functions, and maintenance requirements, conducting a pre-trip inspection, and performing basic and maneuvering operations. Participants also receive hands-on training in concrete mixing, pouring, and finishing. The online theory covers concrete fundamentals and essential on the job functions. Participants who successfully complete the theory and hands on lab for this course earn an ACCS credential.
Academic Pathways: This non-credit workforce training course may also help participants earn college credit through Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) or articulation opportunities toward select certificate or degree programs at participating Alabama community colleges. Credit awards are granted solely at the discretion of the receiving institution in accordance with its academic policies.
