Course Description
This CDL HazMat Endorsement course is designed for participants seeking a Hazardous Materials (H) endorsement on a Class A, Class B, or Class C Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Completion of this course satisfies the federal entry-level driver training (ELDT) theory requirement for the HazMat endorsement before taking the state-administered HazMat knowledge test. Drivers with this endorsement carry more specialized responsibilities than other drivers, and the endorsement opens additional career opportunities and higher earning potential. Participants who successfully complete the theory for this course earn an ACCS credential.
Academic Pathways: This non-credit workforce training course may also help participants earn college credit through Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) or articulation opportunities toward select certificate or degree programs at participating Alabama community colleges. Credit awards are granted solely at the discretion of the receiving institution in accordance with its academic policies.
