Barista Training Course

This course gives participants the essential skills to excel as a barista in the coffee industry. The training covers core coffee-making techniques, including espresso preparation, milk texturing and steaming, latte art, brewing methods, coffee cupping and tasting, grinder calibration, drink recipes, and signature drink creation. Participants also develop customer service and communication skills, order accuracy, and strategies for handling customer questions and complaints. Workplace essentials such as health and safety practices, cleaning and maintenance, inventory management, and basic troubleshooting round out the program, preparing participants to work confidently and professionally on a team. Participants who successfully complete the theory and hands on lab for this course earn an ACCS credential.

Academic Pathways: This non-credit workforce training course may also help participants earn college credit through Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) or articulation opportunities toward select certificate or degree programs at participating Alabama community colleges. Credit awards are granted solely at the discretion of the receiving institution in accordance with its academic policies.
