TRAINING AVAILABLE FOR ALABAMA SCHOOL BUS DRIVERS

The Alabama Community College System has worked alongside the Alabama State Dept. of Education to create customized training for employees seeking immediate jobs as school bus drivers. Training will ensure that participants have the right skills needed to work in the industry and have fulfilled all obligations of Federal Regulations surrounding Class B Passenger/School Bus endorsements. Entry Level Driver Training Theory courses are offered on a virtual platform with an in-person lab for Behind-the-Wheel obligations at each district’s site. Participants completing the course will be awarded the ACCS Credential from an Alabama Community College which indicates they are ready for work. The credential will provide a discount in tuition or articulated credit at the Community College in the event a participant wants to up-skill in the future.

The ACCS Innovation Center, a division of the Alabama Community College System, brings together the state’s community colleges, business and industry, and community partners to deliver rapid, industry-recognized non-credit training within some of the state’s most in-demand career fields.
