Biotechnician Training Course *Under Construction*

This course equips participants with the skills and knowledge to begin a career as a biotechnician. The training covers current biotechnology methods, the organizations that regulate biotech products, and the creation and approval process for biopharmaceuticals. Participants learn the importance of lab, clinical, and manufacturing practices, the documents used across the industry, common job roles, workplace safety and behavior, environmental monitoring in labs, and the role of ethics in biotech. Coursework moves through technical skills and applications, key scientific concepts, biological systems, applied mathematics, and biotechnology equipment, preparing participants to step into the biotech industry. Participants who successfully complete the theory and hands on lab for this course earn an ACCS credential.

Academic Pathways: This non-credit workforce training course may also help participants earn college credit through Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) or articulation opportunities toward select certificate or degree programs at participating Alabama community colleges. Credit awards are granted solely at the discretion of the receiving institution in accordance with its academic policies.
